Social Workers and Social Care Census Letter
The purpose of the Social Workers and Social Care Workforce census is to develop a comprehensive reference point of the social worker and wider social care workforce for mental health services in England that can also be used regionally and by local teams.
The work will produce a comprehensive overview of current workforce including size, composition, demographics, HR metrics, and social worker activity to inform workforce optimisation and development. The 2024 project will build on the success of previous census iterations delivered for 2020, 2022 and 2023 (national report due to be published shortly).
The scope will include NHS trusts, local authorities and independent organisations.
Participants will receive a bespoke report outlining key messages and metrics, which compare local data against nationally reported positions.
